Is it acceptable for a girl to date a boy a year younger than them?
I don't think it really matters if it's the right pair.
Generally, guys date girls who are 1 to 2 years younger or their exact age. Life experiences and common interests are much different for every age group. One to two years difference means more common interests. Three to four years apart means the youngest of the two lacks the same life experiences. More than four years difference means that the two people share few common interests or life experiences. In short, even if you "love"…
Generally, larger age differences become more acceptable as you get older. A good rule of thumb is to only date people older than half your age plus seven years. So, the first time when it is (relatively) acceptable to date someone 15 years your junior is when you are in your mid-40s - and they are in their early 30s.
