Certain parts of The Bible claims that we should not be involved in other "power" or "energy" than God, but what is God? Most Christians don't have a clear definition of God or Christian methodologies. Oftentimes we judge and condemn what we don't understand leading to the belief that techniques for healing are of the occult. Many who practice Reiki, Quantum Touch, Healing Touch and like disciplines are Christians and confess to the Name of Christ or admit to a personal relationship with Him. None of these techniques claim 'power' or 'energy' from a religious belief of any flavor. Most acknowledge a 'higher power,' 'divine source,' or 'universal energy' that Christians believe God created. It may be against the values of some calling themselves Christians to use learn or use healing therapies, but then it is a matter of their personal or taught interpretation of Scripture. Where the difference may be is in that interpretation. The Jesus of the Bible warned of religious activity without relationship yet many still become entrapped in Religion. Jesus also layed hands on the sick and they recovered using first hand the energy and power, he created and then passed on to others. This is the basis of Reiki for Christian believers. Most Reiki practitioners agree that Reiki is not religious at all. It has been used by anyone regardless of faith - be it Christians, Buddhists or Muslims. This proves that Reiki works in spite of whatever religious beliefs or judgments one may have. Reiki is not occult or magic witchcraft.
