Where is the right spot for a girl to get her tongue pierced?

That is the responsibility of your professional body piercer, they will locate the correct location on your tongue for the piercing (not all tongues are created equally).

Can peroxide take infection out of a tongue piercing?

Don't put peroxide in your mouth. It can kill you. Go back to the piercing parlor or your doctor's to have it checked out. To properly clean your piercing, brush your teeth twice a day, as well as the top and bottom of your tongue. To clean the tongue bar, dip it in alcohol, and if you're putting it back in your tongue right away, rinse it. I don't have my tongue pierced, though I want one, and I asked my boyfriend this question. He gave me his answer.

How can you numb your tongue before piercing?

If you are using the correct type of piercing equipment, you should not have to numb your tongue at all. Numbing the area before piercing could affect the healing process, and leave more opportunity to become infected. It is best to get a piercing done professionally, but if you are piercing at home, be sure to use the right sterile needles and tools. There should be little to no pain, making numbing unnecessary.

Do you have to use a long barbell right after you get your tongue pierced?

The barbell has to be longer to allow the tongue to swell, failure to allow for room can result in the barbell being pulled into the piercing and requiring surgical intervention to remove it from the tongue.

Is numbness at the tip of your tongue normal after a tongue piercing?

Well generally with the post piercing swelling, it's hard to tell what is considered normal. In a standard center line tongue piercing, placed approx 3/4" back from the tip of the tongue normal even swelling is to be expected. In the center line piercing you are only piercing connective tissue that joins the right and left sides of the tongue. So the possibility of nerve damage is fairly low (note I am not saying "no risk", there is always a risk when piercing the tongue, but I am talking about a professionally performed piercing) If you have any other form of tongue piercing then the risk becomes even higher, so numbness and possible permanent damage is a real ever present risk. The tongue is the strongest muscle in the human body and a very important one at that, so serious thought needs to be put into getting a piercing before actually getting it done to ensure you are making a good decision. Once it's pierced, there is no way to repair the damage done to it, it's a one shot deal and there is no turning back.

How can you tell if your tongue piercing is infected?

Most likely, it isn't. Saliva keeps your mouth from getting infected. Right after the piercing some white stuff may ooze out but that's normal discharge. Unless it's yellow or green, you probably shouldn't worry.Pain, swelling, bad odour, discharge of blood and puss from the piercing, sore throat, fever, chills. This means you are in serious shape and medical attention is required without delay. Infected tongue piercing can go septic and require medical attention and antibiotics to treat.
