That depends on the relationship between the current wife and the X wife as well as the relationship between the husband and the X wife.
Some divorces are quite amicable, and if the involved parties do not seem as though they will harm each other, it's probably okay to have them attending the same function.
It also depends on the function. For example, if they are attending the wedding of the husband and his X wife, why would they NOT both be in attendance?
