A good indicator of what your weight should be is the Body Mass Index. This index indicates whether your weight is appropriate according to your size. However, the BMI doesn't tell you what your size should be, only the range at which your weight will pose no health risk. Also, bear in mind that it doesn't take into consideration your pourcentage of fat. As such, if you are more muscular, then the results will not be exact. At your age and weight, if you are a girl, your BMI is around 30, which is higher than average for your age group. If you are a boy, your BMI is also around 30, which is higher than average for your age group. Now, this isn't "bad" or something to feel ashamed about. This number only indicates that your weight isn't optimal for your health. You should never look at yourself by comparing yourself to others or to celebrities and the likes. Having a healthy weight is important yes, but having an active life and eating well is what truly matters. If you decide that you want to lose some weight, you should see your doctor, a nurse, etc. so they can give you advice appropriate to YOUR NEEDS. NEVER go on one of those crash diets you hear all about. Starving your body only makes it think that there is a crisis going on and that it needs to make you put on weight in case it happens again. So, while at first you'll lose weight, you'll only gain some in the long run. You are much better off eating in an healthy way, as in lots of fruit and vegetables, lean cuts of meat, whole grains... and that also includes a nice dessert once in a while. Cutting yourself off completely will only make you eat a whole cake instead of a piece. It also means going outside, playing sports, etc. Even taking a 30 minutes walk everyday can make a difference. And sometimes, small changes can make a difference. Did you know that sodas and juices pack nearly the same amount of sugar? Just drinking more water is a good way to be healthier.

I've calculated the BMI (body mass index) and it turns out that, that BMI is 25.8, which is 0.8 into the Overweight section.

Remember that this is only a computer's sum, and that muscle weighs 3x more than fat, so it may not be bad if your weight is due to muscle. But, in my personal opinion, walking for fifteen minutes a day is good if you want to lose weight :)
