I do believe so. I had to prep for a colonoscopy a few days ago, and I had to drink a half gallon of Gatorade with the powered laxative. I had a gout attack that evening, and was fasting. The previous 2 days for meals I had low purine foods. I can always predict when I will get a mild flare up, based on the things I should not eat. This one was a mystery until I saw it on line.

Coffee is actually good for gout. If you do a little research, you will find medical sites that tell you that coffee helps fush your system of uric acid. That being said, every one of us is different, and our gout triggers differ from person to person. Keep track of what you eat, and if it effects your gout.
