It is completely safe to scan your hand. I used to do it in an art class I took, we scanned not only hands, but our faces as well. Just use a cloth to black out the natural light, or else you won't see much definition.

the thing about it is that if you cant or dont know how to scan stuff on your computer it will probably crash or have lots of viruses on it so make sure u know how 2 scan ! :)
