as close to the battery as possible, that way if the power cable shorts on the frame somewhere, it will blow the fuse, if it was near the amp, it would not blow the fuse, and the cable could possibly start burning!!!!
it would have to be a 30 amp close to the battery
The 1997 Chrysler Sebring radio amplifier does have an in-line fuse. The in-line fuse will be in the radio wiring harness.
Yes, the Kenwood KAC-7202 does have a fuse inside the amplifier. This fuse is designed to protect the internal circuitry from damage caused by power surges or short circuits. Additionally, there is usually an external fuse in the power line installation to provide further protection. It's important to check both fuses if you encounter issues with the amplifier.
You can, but you'd better put a fuse in-line, next to the positive battery post, otherwise when it rubs through, (it will) you will have a red-hot wire that will damage one of many things, including your battery or setting the whole engine compartment on fire. Better that you find out why you are having the problem that makes you need this fix. I suspect you are having a problem getting the battery to charge. Better check: your battery...the battery cables, the alternator fuse, the fuse links under the fuse box and MOST importantly, all the grounds to the body. (There is one next to the fender by the battery, one on the passenger side connecting the engine to the strut tower (it unplugs). I added a ground to the firewall and connected it to the fuel rail. Without proper ground you can have engine operation problems and charging problems. Good luck! Auntetr
In order to use the line out in the Fender Performer 650, you will need an amplifier. Connect the cable from the line out to the amplifier. Make sure that the amplifier is turned on.
Underneath the driver's side battery, in line with the steering column
under the battery or close by
To get a positive you can go straight from the battery or the fuse box. To ground the CB you should ground it to the body being sure you have a connection to bare metal. A better way is to run a cable, along withe the positive side, directly to the battery. If you run power or ground to the fuse box and a short occurs, you may knock out important systems on the vehicle. Best go directly to the battery, with in-line fuses on both sides of the line.
Draw power to your amp. DIRECTLY from he battery, with an "In-Line Fuse"--- thus eliminating any overload on the head fuse
The in-line fuse for the alternator on a 1998 Dodge Neon is typically located in the engine compartment, near the battery. It is part of the power distribution center or fuse box. Check for a fuse labeled for the alternator or charging system; refer to the owner’s manual for specific fuse ratings and locations. If you're unable to locate it, inspecting the wiring between the alternator and the battery for any inline fuses is also advisable.
As far as the positive terminal is concerned yes, but, you had better put in a fuse in line. for the negative terminal it is much better to wire it to a bolt or screw that is bolted through the chassis. this will keep your equipment better protected from surges, or any other unforeseen voltage irregularities.
The drive belt is not tensioned. The fuse in the line between the battery and alternator is blown. The battery has a bad cell. The voltage to the alternator field is missing from the regulator or ignition switch circuit.
