I'm guessing a community or junior college

Some states offer more money for Lottery Scholarships at 4-year than 2-year schools so check to you see how much federal and state assistance you can get. Not all 4 year schools accept all 2 year college credits so check before you enroll!

Research and ask questions at your state's higher ed dept website and the colleges you're considering. They are more helpful than you think and every state and school is different.
