No it is not. However, it depends on the reason for asking her for her phone number. It could be completely innocent. I have had many phone numbers of women throughout the length of my marriage, however, it was almost always business related. There were also times when they were not, but had to do with other issues unrelated to a personal relationship. I would not assume the worst, but I would not be blind either. Marriage is based on trust. If you do not have that, you have nothing. Do you trust him?

That could be a scenario in which chances are that would be true but then there is the cheating scenario. He would definitely hide the number so you wouldn't find out that he was cheating.
