No. Just make sure that the guinea pig gets lots of attention and time every day to run around outside of it's cage in a safe environment
hutches
Wild guinea pigs live in the wooded areas of South America. Domesticated guinea pigs usually live in cages or hutches.
the people who live in hutches are goobers
no, absolutely no. it is cruel for them.
no you are sooo cruel i love guinea pigs?
Guinea pigs need 8 square feet of living space inside the hutch. For 2, a minimum of 10 square feet is needed. The height needs to be a minimum of 12 inches. It is not safe to keep guinea pigs outside in their hutches due to weather changes, so build it to be accommodated inside the house.
I would definitely go for a hutch with at least a plastic bottom to it. Guinea pig wee tends to seep into everthing and is very potent. From my experience there is no getting that smell out of wood! the wipe clean option is a must. remember to have wooden chew toys or sticks around their cage in order to let them gnaw to keep their teeth from over growing. in summary..plastic is a big yes!
your guinea pigs should already know the others male.if you want to breed then keep them alone for a while.
Yes, but not together. Chinchillas require very different environments to guinea pigs.

inside the house
Guinea pigs only sleep for about 6 minutes a day, unless your hamster runs around 24/7 it wont keep them up.
