Guinea pigs need 8 square feet of living space inside the hutch. For 2, a minimum of 10 square feet is needed. The height needs to be a minimum of 12 inches. It is not safe to keep guinea pigs outside in their hutches due to weather changes, so build it to be accommodated inside the house.
i guess so.. my guinea pigs live in one rabbit hutch and they are fine with it i guess so.. my guinea pigs live in one rabbit hutch and they are fine with it
in a hutch
YES!!!
A hutch
A hutch is best for a guinea pig so that they have more space. Also it is good to give them a run so they can get some exercise and live longer.
rabbits and guinea pigs.
Well only females with females because the males might fight in the hutch but you can do females with males but it really depends
plastic or wood.
it is safe to keep guinea pigs out side just as long as their hutch is water proof and was a cover area that is warm. i would also recommend the hutch have a soild wire floor or wood floor to prevent any other animals digging under the hutch to get the guinea pigs. hope this helps
You could use it if the flooring does not have a wire grid on the bottom, since it can cause bumblefoot. Also, guinea pigs are too sensitive to the cold to live outside as they orignate from Peru or Chile, so possibly if the hutch is kept indoors. However, more cage space is better so I would recommend building your own cage. A good website for building a cage is cavycages.com (google it an it will come up).
You shouldn't build your guinea pig a hutch made out of wood , they will pee on it and it will soak in. Which will eventually make the wood go rotten and could possible give them bladder and eye infections. You can make it out of wood though if you put a layer of tough plastic over the wood that the guinea pigs would not be able to chew through, so then it wouldn't really matter what type of wood you would use.
I want to use wire mesh for the new rabbit hutch that I am building.
