I have driven my 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII when the air ride system was completely out! If you go very slow it is not very dangerous, however, if you start to reach speeds over about 40 mph, the ride is very rough and can become dangerous. The danger comes from bouncing you all over the car. I was driving it to my friends house and almost lost control. So, yes it is dangerous at increased speeds. If you must drive it, go very slow!
