In Quran, Surat An-Nisaa (chapter 4, verses 22 through 23) said (meaning English translation):
" Don't marry women you fathers married, except what has already passed...Forbidden to you (for marriage) your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your father's sisters, your mother's sisters, your brother's daughters, your sister's daughters, your foster mothers who gave you suck, your foster milk suckling sisters, your stepmothers, your stepdaughters under your guardianship, born of your wives to whom you have gone in but there is no sin on you if you have not gone in them to marry their daughters,-the wives of your biological sons, and two sisters in weld-lock at the same time, except for what has already passed; verily God is All Forgiving and Most Merciful. Also forbidden are women already married.... All others are lawful ..."

" ...Made lawful to you in marriage are chaste women from the believers and chaste women from those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) when you have given them their due Mahr (briding money given by husband to his wife at the time of marriage), desiring chastity (ie making them in legal wedlock) not committing illegal sexual intercourse, nor taking them as girlfriends..."
