No!

It is not so difficult.

Laminate flooring is a beautiful, low maintenance, long-lasting flooring. There are several simple steps that you can take to keep your laminate flooring clean and to ensure that you get many years of service from it. Simply dust mop or vacuum with a soft brush or wood floor accessory to keep your laminate floor clean from dust, dirt or grit. A damp cloth or mop can be used without damage to the laminate flooring panels, but do not use excessive water. Dry the floor thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth. Blot up spills or water from wet feet or footwear immediately with a clean, dry cloth, sponge, or paper towel. Do not allow excess liquid to remain on the surface of your laminate floor. Do not use soap-based detergents, abrasive cleaners, or combined “clean and shine” products on your laminate floor. Do not use steel wool or other scouring pads that may scratch laminate panels. Do not wax or polish your laminate flooring. Do not steam clean or use chemicals that may damage the laminate flooring surface. For stubborn spots or stains on laminate flooring use acetone or nail polish remover on stubborn substances such as tar, asphalt, paint, or oil. Then wipe clean with a damp cloth. No, you can clean it just like you would typically clean hardwood. It should actually be easier to clean and care for laminate than hardwood.

Laminate flooring is not real wood, it just imitates the look of it.

Laminate wood flooring shows scuffs and scratches more then tiles do. Laminate flooring seems to last little longer the tiles.

No because the old floor is also floating.

Wood flooring is real wood, and laminate isn't. Real wood flooring is more expensive and is the real deal. You can buy laminate cheap and it will only last so long.

You can but its not advisable as glue is needed to stick the laminate flooring down and it will ruin the wood beneath.

According to www.home-style-choices.com laminate flooring is cheaper than real wood floors and you can also choose laminate flooring that looks like real wood but without the cost or upkeep.

laminate floor is floating, ie it is hooked to itself and is not attached to subfloor - wood flooring is nailed to subfloor, usually thru the tongue .. you must then finish the wood flooring, and laminate already has its finish..

Great question. Laminate wood flooring is designed to look exactly like wood. Even though it is made of synthetic products rather than real wood. Wood will outlast laminate, but if you have children laminate is better for your home.

If the wood laminate flooring was well placed by a professional and well treated, it should be very durable. beside of the beauty of this type of flooring, it is also durable.

Yes it can, I think it's a good idea as it's then easier to keep clean.

Yes wood laminate flooring is relatively cheap. Depending on brand and style its very cost effective and looks great.

I would not recommend real wood flooring for a kitchen. You are better off using tiles. Real wood flooring can decay faster if you spill something on it. With laminate flooring you don't have to worry about that. However, wood flooring does look nicer. I would go with tile flooring for a kitchen and wood flooring for other rooms.

Laminate flooring is a better choice with dogs and children because it is more resistant to scratches and moisture than real wood flooring.

Flooring is one of the most important factor in sunroom to increase its durability. Most popular flooring options are carpenting, wood laminate, Ceramic tile, Vinyl laminate, stamped concrete and epoxy/stone flooring. My personal favorite is wood laminate flooring.

Laminate wood flooring does nothing for the resale value of the home. Real wood flooring will increase the value of the home and is a great investment. (fastfloors.com, www.fastfloors.com/content_6Real-Wood_or_Laminate_Flooring_Im_lost.htm)

The pergo laminate flooring should last a long time under normal wear and tear. I would however suggest going with wood before the laminate flooring.

No. Laminate flooring is made of the same materials as laminate countertops - a type of plastic. Even though the flooring looks like wood, remember it is NOT. Polyurethane applied to laminate will only bubble and flake off.

No. Remove the carpet. You need a hard, level and clean surface to lay laminate. If there is linoleum under that, it should also be removed.

"You can purchase flooring in both real wood and in laminate tiles. It depends on which you would rather have, you could check a carpet store for different styles."

No. Polyurethane is designed for wood, not laminate. In order to apply polyurethane properly, you are supposed to sand the floors first. You can not sand laminate flooring without ruining the surface.

Laminate flooring doesn't look quite as good as hardwood flooring, but it is less expensive and more durable. It resists stains and fading. It doesn't get nicked or scratched as easily as hardwood. For a good side by side comparison of laminate flooring and hard wood floors check out Floor Facts Hard wood vs. Laminate.

Hard wood flooring is more durable than laminate when it comes to liquids. When a lot of water seeps into the laminates seams, it causes warping. This warping happens less with hard wood because of the solidness of wood, as opposed to thin laminate.

I just moved into a cabin with wood flooring. The flooring is in very good condition and I would like to keep it that way. How should I clean the wood flooring safely?
