look underthe truck starting from the catalyctic converter in direction of the engine. There is at two places ,wires which enter in the exhaust pipe. It's like spark plugs with electric wire. Very simple to change.
Hi well i am a Ex-Bmw tech. and a tech HAHA but there are 4 Oxygen sensor... there are 2 Pre sensor and 2 After sensor.. easy to see but sort of a Pain to replace. If its a E46 not a E36
its in front of car in the exhaust manifold, u need a special socket to remove oxegyn sensor. fairly easy
It is very easy to find. It is at cat. inlet. you can see it from the top when you open the hood.
Find very good instructions with photos at: http://matrixowners.com/topic/72977-diy-how-to-change-an-oxygen-sensor-in-a-matrix/ I used them and they are easy to follow. Replacement time 15 minutes.
The O2 sensor is located in the exhaust manifold on the front of the engine. To change it you'll need a 7/8 box-end wrench. Just unplug the wire from the harness, unscrew the sensor and replace it. It's pretty easy.
Yes
there are more than just one o2 sensors on a 02 tahoe. they are lacated in the exhaust pipe before and after the catalytic converter. and yes they are easy to replace.
From underneath car there about 2' apart on either side of converter. Upstream is much harder then the downstream which is easy
If they are the same sensor... replace the easy one first and if the code returns, take the old one and replace the other one
The Oxygen Sensor on a 1989 Cherokee 4.0L is on the exhaust pipe on the left side of the engine just below the exhaust manifold. You can see it from above but you must replace it from below. It is pretty easy to reach. I recently changed mine and it took only 10 minutes using an O2 sensor wrench.
I own 2003 Tracker 4x4 4 cyl. My crossmember is rusted out and the dealer will replaced- no cost to me. But I have question: if the crossmember is out - will be easy to replace the oil pan and starter ? any saving for me? Mark
For the 2.2 liter, there are two. One is a pre catalytic converter sensor, and the other is post catalytic converter. They are very easy to access and replace.
