Yes!!!!!! While a puppy may be shy before you adopt it, with plenty of love. It will be a great companion. I got my dog at 8 months from an abusive owner and trust me he was really nervous ans scared when he first got home. But after a few weeks of having a loving family he's the most playful and nice dog I've ever encountered. And. Not to mention the poor dog is probably just nervous from being in the shelter. Go for it! Owning a dog is one of the most rewarding experiences there are.
