Especially during the season, it is important to ensure that you are never over-trained. Ok, this is something that is up my alley, I am a college swimmer, and our coach and many other coaches I know have us weaight train BEFORE a swim workout. After the weights, we swim at least 5,000 yds to loosen up after the workout, and then we don't meet again till the afternoon. (weight training is at around 6am). Remember when doing weights, you want low/medlow weight and high repition, as well as stretch well before and after weights, and before and after swimming. I hope this helped you out, good luck with you training.
