No. If you have an old deliquency on your credit history and you now decide to pay it, all you're doing is refreshing an old debt on your credit history. Ex. If you owe a credit card 400 bucks from let's say, 2000, and you pay it now, creditors will see that it took over six years for you to pay it and it will remain in negative status on your history. Remember that after seven years your credit gets a clean start again, so might as well let it run for 7 years. Leslie
Paying the car off was good but having to repo it to get it paid off was BAD or negative. the lender did report that it was PIF,HUH?? So they reported the good and the bad.
not always, depends on your credit situation. keep using and paying off your credit card every month to improve your credit score
A good credit history will remain on your report. The negative credit reported will usually fall off in around 7 years. Judgments will stay on your credit report until they are satisfied.
You pull your credit report at credit report .com and as long as it has been seven years you can go online to dispute it. It should say dispute just push the button or call to dispute it they should have a number for each credit report which concist of three separate ones.
Filing bankruptcy does not remove a charge off report from a credit card on your credit report. It just adds bankruptcy to your credit report.

ANSWER That is correct. If the creditor is not reporting to the major bureaus there is no report... good or bad.
A charge off is a term that refers to an amount of debt that is unlikely to be paid back. A charge off is then listed on a person's credit report and also on credit bureau reports. A charge off is a bad thing to have because it can make obtaining credit, either secured or unsecured, much more difficult.

In the majority of situations, bad credit items are supposed to fall off your credit report after 7 years, HOWEVER, this doesn't always happen. After the fall of date has passed, it is best to get a copy of your credit report to insure that negative items have been removed. Know your rights and get a Free Copy of Your Credit Report from the credit bureau
You can have a credit dispute, if the agency reporting the bad judgment does not get back with the company disputing the judgment within 30 days, it HAS to be removed from your credit report. Example: I filed bankruptcy(?) on a auto repo. and the company did not take it off my credit report, I had my credit card company do a credit dispute, they did not respond within 30 days, and it was removed from my credit report.
= If your credit report reports that you have a bad debt write-off, then it means that the original creditor has written off the debt, but they can still sell the rights to the debt to a collection agency and they can contact you and take legal action.
