An adult citizen can carry pepper spray, however the device must be registered at police head quarters fire arm registration section before it can be carried on your person. More information can be obtained by reviewing DC Code Chapter 7-2501 which explains the law regarding this requests, generally there are only five sprays that can be registered:
Chloroacetophenone
Phanylchloromethylketone
Oleoriesin capaicum
Alphacloracetophenone
Orthochlorobenazaim-alononitnle
ADDED: The use of a disabling chemical spray against a law enforcemnt officer is an offense for which deadly force is authorized to be used.
I live in British Columbia, B.C. Canada and we use "pepper spray" and it works! Mace is also illegal here. I carry it everywhere I go and only had to use it once on a coyote while walking my dogs by the river. Don't worry everyone, the coyote was fine and took a quick bee-line to the river to cool off his face! "Bear Spray" is also used here, but it's accident prone and if it leaks it stinks! Stick with the pepper spray.Second Answer.Good advice above, but pepper spray is not legal either!Yes, in a way. It's not mace, but it is a self defence spray. http://www.stoppa.co.uk/acatalog/StoppaRed_UV_Self_Defence_Spray.html It is red 'goop' stuff, it is hard to get off without water and also stains the skin and clothes of the attacker with a UV dye. This company also offer a free replacement if there is a legitimate crime number involved. I only know about this because my dad used to teach in a prison and was looking around at self defence things to help me while I walked around town etc. He found this and I try my hardest to get my friends to buy one but they never seem to 'get around to it'. I have never had to use mine but just carrying it makes me feel safer.---The Stoppa UV spray is a superb product, but even better, combine it with an audible personal attack alarm. Mini keyring alarms are convenient to carry and offer that extra bit of protection.A whole range, including UV spray is available from:http://www.top4security.co.uk/shop/rape-alarms/home.html Laws on Pepper Spray in the United States differ between states. * Washington, D.C. - Possession of pepper spray must be registered with the DC Metropolitan Police * Massachusetts - Pepper spray can only be sold to holders of firearm identification cards. * Other States - In many (but not all) other states, pepper spray can be purchased at various stores and carried legally by anyone over 18. * Canada - Pepper spray is classified as a prohibited weapon. A number of dog and significantly stronger bear pepper sprays are legal to own. However, use of these items against humans will most likely result in the user being prosecuted. * United Kingdom - Pepper spray is classed as an offensive weapon, the sale and possession of which is illegal under section five of the Firearms Act. * Other Countries - Laws vary. You should check the local laws of the country and district in which you live to be sure whether pepper spray is legal for you to carry.
No, skateboarding itself is not illegal. It is illegal only if you skate on private property or in places where it is prohibited.
No, Washington DC does not allow concealed handgun carry, nor do they recognize permits from any other state.

Yes, they are illegal in DC. "Around there" are the states of Virginia and Maryland, where they are legal. Of course, you can DO things with them that are NOT legal in a heavily populated urban setting.
Virginia & Washington dc. Military bases.
None that come to mind.
No! Super illegal
You couldn't own handguns until recently. DC enacted ban in 1976, that banned many types of guns, but that law was recently ruled unconstitutional by the supreme court. In theory, you can now own any otherwise legal gun in DC, but I haven't heard any reports yet of what difference the SCOTUS ruling has made. Please consult the DC Handgun Info blog at http://dchandguninfo.livejournal.com. It has links connecting you to D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Dept. Gun Registration Office, where to shoot, where to train, links to pro-gun blogs, etc. You may own long guns as well as handguns. The handgun (specific model number and color) must appear on DC's approved lists (combined from the approved lists of Maryland, Massachusetts, and California) and no others, unless you plan on suing the District of Columbia. If you do not have any training, you need to get some. DC has made it expensive and cumbersome to register a gun, and the process can easily add $400 to the cost of your gun.
