However, there are certain rules to be followed when obtaining information from the internet (or books erc).
- Never copy other peoples work and pass this of as your own, that is cheating and may get you thrown off your college/university place. There is a word for this and it is call plagiarism. Many educational establishment have systems in place to detect if you do this.
- Where you do include work by other people (to make a point), acknowledge where you do this and reference them and where you got the material. It is perfectly OK to cite other work (we all build on other peoples foundations and it shows you have worked on and read round a subject of study) but this must be done openly and give due credit to the original author. Doing this will earn you extra marks.
- Don't just copy an answer, answer the question (based on what you have read) using your own words and in your own way.
