No but it is not something I would recommend. If you fly off the handle threatening to sue a person it could possibly look bad to the judge. Consult with an attorney/lawyer to see if you have a case first. They will help you with the legal proceedings from there.

To threaten someone is more or less the same as killing them in person. I am actually a lawyer in real life and work specifically on criminal cases (we get these types quite a lot). The maximum punishment you can recieve (if the other person has reported you) is roughly 2-3 years, the least amount of time you'll do is probably about 25 years to life. So Don't worry.

Threatening behaviour (provided no weapons was used during the offence) could lead to a police warning, or being summoned to court. The magistrate is more likely to fine you and bound you over to keep the peace in future. A lot depends on the severity of the behaviour, and whether actual contact was made.
