In 1992, several changes were made to the Bronco that made it illegal to remove the top. The first was the addition of shoulder belts for the rear passengers, which bolted to the top. The second was the addition of a 3rd brake light in the top. Removing the top made the rear seat belts unusable and federal requirements state that any vehicle that had a 3rd brake light cannot remove it. To remedy the situation, a rear seat from an 80 - 91 Bronco can be swapped in, and a bolt on 3rd brake light can be put on the tailgate or over the spare tire, like modern Jeeps. To remove the top, remove all of the interior trim (which is held on by standard screws) and then you'll need a special Torx Safety Bit (size 40 I believe) to remove all of the bolts inside.
yes , top can be removed. remove trim along bottom sides of top, also remove trim where front of top meets roof of cab then remove bolts that hold top to vehicle. then with some buddies, lift top off
