The issue of arranged marriages in the Western world has long been controversial. Although such marriages were not uncommon in past generations, in most jurisdictions, a parent does not have the power to force a child of any age into a marriage.
In the UK laws have been recently made that specifically protect people from forced marriages. Some other countries have similar laws.
In other parts of the world, arranged marriages are still common and there can be conflicts when those cultures and habits are brought to Western countries.
Whether or not it is illegal to tell a child who to marry, most jurisdictions have legal principles that allow a marriage contract to be challenged if it was made under duress.
A passing thought:Illegal, no. Irresponsible, perhaps. Good parents do not throw up walls in front of their children; walls are meant to be climbed, and children will climb walls. If you wish for your children to defy you, tell them no. If you wish for your children to make wise choices, encourage them to do so.
its not illegal. but i think it would be abit stupid not to tell him. :)
No but unethical.
Unless the child was forcibly taken from the home, no.
Marrying someone away against their will is illegal in most countries. Tell the police. I'm aware of that this will put you in trouble with the family but it's your life and you have to make a choice. There are organizations that can help but you have to tell the police if you are not capable of leaving or if they don't take no for an answer. If you are a minor this is also a case for Child Protective Service.
...He should call the police or tell a trusted authority figure. Incest is illegal and damaging to a child's psyche.
Yes
I would go down to Social Services and tell them what happened. A social worker should be able to help you get the information you need.
tell them to stop it and how wrong it is and if still carrys on tell an adult
When the child is aking what time it is. Once the child understands the concept of time they should begin learning how to tell time.
tell her before its too late !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! p.s. hurry!
Dont.
It is not illegal for the mother to tell her child to 'Beat Up' someone. It is considered child neglect and the Child Protective Services can intervene with the parents 'Parenting Skills'.
