The law was made in 2010 even though we don't usually have alot food with shark fins in it the state wanted to be sure to indicate that it is wrong to sell,buy,or trade shark fins. No. Regardless of whether a state is on the ocean, shark finning is illegal in the United States. What's more important now, especially in landlocked states, is whether trade of shark fins is legal. If it's legal to buy or sell shark fins in Nevada that will contribute to shark finning elsewhere, including other countries with lax laws. So far a few U.S. states have banned shark fin trade. I don't think Nevada is one of them.
