That is not safe at all. To be honest with you, it's not a smart idea. Insurance companies will do anything nowadays to avoid giving you payments, if, God forbid, *knocks on wood* you get into an accident. If you were negligent, you may not only be stuck with your own bill, but someone else's if you have a passenger. Do yourself a favour, spend the money now, or it may cost you later.
