First off, why do you want to know where its at? to replace? The regulator is in the intake manifold housing ( I have a 97 C-1500, 4.3 ). Yes IN IT. You take the top cover off the manifold and it will be in the back. If you take the intake manifold cover off and see a puddle of gas in there, it is probably bad ( cost about $40 to $50 dollars at pep boys, they usually have it in stock) but if no gas puddle then I would leave it alone.

Pull puddle light out of mirror and pull two wires of it. Tape wires up so they don't touch.
