Normal is a setting on your clothes dryer.

Does the statistically average male do this? No, but it is more common than most people think**. Is it wrong? It really depends on the man and woman involved: expecting the other person in a relationship to only do what you want to do is selfish and childish: everyone has different views on crossdressing, when it come to couples and CD'ing, this is the best example you can find of "you must both compromise" - often the female wants the male to stop totally, while the male wants to do this more often and in public. Each partner must give in somewhat to retain the goodwill of the other, but also not allow the other to run rough-shod over them.

As with any relationship and any subject - we have one mouth and 2 ears. Listen 2x+ than you talk. Be willing to make concessions, understand that very few people understand crossdressing and often partners and family have to be educated about crossdressing.

** I have read (and know of personally) many stories of very macho men dressing up as women on Halloween. Since we pretty much don't dress in things we despise AND cannot dress so as to offend the public at Halloween (going out as "Adult Toy Man" covered in battery operated sex devices is a no-no) I would make a wager that many many men would love to dress in women's clothes, but just don't have enough internal pressure to overcome the social stigmatism.
