It is definitely normal hamster practice to eat the corpse (before it decays), which is thought to be for waste disposal purposes and not to satisfy hunger. A person who can read hamster thoughts may tell you that "Once a hamster dies, it IS normal for it's house-partner to eat it's corpse, as a way to show simpathy for the dead friend. If the baby hamsters are not strong enough, sometimes the mother will eat them, in order to keep them from dying a horrible death. Also, if the mother feels her young is in danger, she will eat them because she thinks that her young will be safer that way."
A hamster but if the hamster mother feels the babies are in danger she will eat them...
only if they have the scent of another hamster on them or if she does not want them.
It is not normal for any animals to eat their youngs but hamster have the ability to eat their youngs because they are an omnivorous kind of animals, one reason is for their survival.
after the baby hamster has been handled for a while sometimes the mother hamster will eat their young so be "careful".
if the hamster baby is under three weeks of age, it is helpless. until then, rely on their mother to provide milk and comfort. they may be seem eating poo and tissue. this is normal. in my experience, the mother will never eat her young! you may have heard that she will but it happens very rarely and she will only do it if she feels threatened.
Baby hamster's only drink their mother's milk and they proceed to eat hamster food once they're weaned.
I have a hamster its fine he might get sick though
Mother hamster is not resenting her babies, but when mother Hamster are afraid , they hide there children in their mouth. if the mother stayed scared, it will eat its babies! so its better when your hamster gives birth , to Never make any noise close to the cage.
