No, it is not normal, but you can try leaving the hamster alone for a little while so he might forget you, then try coming back to him with a friendly face, and and gently pat it. Don't hold it too much though, maybe that might be the reason why he is scared of you.
show the dog that there is nothing to be scared of...
TRuthfully, no. I got my hamster from a pet store, been there for all her life(9 weeks until I bought her) and she is very timid, and easily frightened. My friend Sarah bought her hamster from a flea market, and her hamster isn't scared of anything. And if your hamster is pregnant, the pet store will not let you return it.
You can be scared of practically everything but i have never heard of someone being scared of their own fingers or a pet fish (a safe fish) or a mini hamster or other things like that...
Bring it to a pet shop and give them the hamster then ask if they will let you trade for a new baby hamster and then when you get it you will have to pet the hamster every day that way it dont become wild and try to bite you.
any pet store pet smart pet co pet valu
a bad thing is that you have to clean his cage alot and he poops if he gets scared a good thing is that you have a pet and he might just love you

Hamsters can sometimes squeak, this is because something has caught its attention or is scared of something.
Either buy a new hamster if you want one or just look for it until you find it.
No where
The pet store, of course!
the hamster is scared when you corner it or put your hand s towards its face .the best thing to do is rub the sawdust from inside the cage in your hands then try to relax your hand with the Pam of the hand facing up. then the hamster will sniff the sawdust in your hand it should go on your hand but try not to lift it as it might get scared again ,try and put food in your finger tips and feed hamster as the fingertips seems to be smaller than the Pam of your hand .then give time for your pet hamster to trust you .
