Is it normal if you put a NuvaRing in mid-cycle under a doctor's orders to check for side effects and took it out 3 days ago when your normal period should start but it hasn't yet?

you will need to clarify your question. If you place a NuvaRing in mid cycle (if I am not mistaken) you should still remove it after the third week---if it is your first NuvaRing.
