It doesn't sound like anything grave, from the information you've given me. It could be a bone chip that encycsted, or even some gravel, if the fall resulted in an open wound. If sutures were invovled, it might be fragments of a suture that were not properly removed -- not a danger if so. Some danger signs are: * Can you slide the lump around under the skin, as if a pea had been placed under the skin? If so, that's a GOOD sign. If it's attached to the underlying process, that's slightly worrisome. * Is it very red or purple? Black or dark brown? Are there diark lines radiating from it? * Is it changing in size of shape (bad sign) or has it remained the same size and shape for a long time (good sign)? * Is the shape regular and symetrical? Or is one half shaped a lot differently from the other half? * Is it plainful to the touch? None of these indicators are an absolute proof of danger. If yoiu answer YES to more than 2 or 3, have a doc look at it. More important, answering NO to all of these questions doesn't absolutely mean there's no problem -- just that the likelihood of a problem is diminished. Personally, I think if all your answers are NO, you're okay, and I'd show it to the doc next check-up. But if you're the least bit worried, call your doctor and ask over the phone. As it's been around a year, it doesn't sound like something bad will happen in the next day or two.
