Is it normal to fall in love with someone who has already committed?

Honestly, I can't say it either way if it is or isn't normal. But I can say, from experience, that it happens. You are not alone in that respect. I have just come out of that same exact situation, mine involved the committed one falling for me as well, we never really used the words "love" but we both knew it, we hinted at it. Wow, this is definitely the first time I have come out and said this but I really did love this person. I know how much it hurts and how much you wish you could be with that person but you have to realize that the person who is committed has made their choice. Many people might inspire you to run after them and try to let them know how you feel and maybe just maybe, they will leave there commitment and run off into the sunset with you but the chances of that are not high, I am just trying to give it to you straight. But here is the good news, keep up your chin and keep your eyes open because there IS someone out there for you and no matter what you will run into them or meet them at one point in your life because fate is there and fate always works things out. If this person whom you are in love with happens to be this person for you then do not worry, you will end up with them, sooner or later.

This is a lot coming from me and it was pretty hard to admit it to myself, in fact I don't think I even believe it yet and until I do I will be hurting myself. Please don't let this happen to you. I was hit hard, didn't see it coming, wasn't even attracted to the guy, he was not the type I am usually attracted to, I wasn't even looking, I tried to make the feelings go away because I knew nothing could become of it because he was already committed (married) and even though nothing physical ever happened between us there was a tremendous connection and I was for the first time in my life truly in love. I have not even seen him in over a year and I still feel the same. Even though I don't obscess about it, I think of him every day, I hope he is doing well, I wish the best for him, and I feel too that if it is meant for us to be together then someday we will but I am not basing my life on it. I miss him terribly and there are some days that I can barely stand it but I just keep busy and take one day at a time. So, as for is it normal, I don't think it's abnormal. Love just happens when it happens and I don't think we can control it at all. You either love someone or you don't. We can't make ourselves love someone and we can't make ourselves not love someone. It is what it is.
