Is it ok if parrots eat paper?

Yes. The bleach in paper is very harmful to small birds. They may also get small pieces of paper stuck in their throat causing them to choke and die. It is not a good idea to let parakeets rip up or eat paper.

Instead of giving them paper, you could give them timothy hay. It can be found at any pet smart or any pet store around your area.

If you don't want to go out and buy treats for your birds, you can give them fresh fruits and vegetables. Safe fruits and veggies to eat are carrots, apples, mandarin Oranges, and regular oranges.

You can use a small but heavy spoon, such as a demitasse spoon or a spoon that is made for a child. Drill a hole in the handle about halfway down toward the bowl of the spoon, and attach it to the cage with a leather thong. The thong must be thick enough so that it cannot be twisted to form a noose.

Don't be alarmed if your bird does not use the new toy right away. It needs to get used to it, and will not regard it as an enemy after a week or two.

Well consisting on thier diet my dear paper is not their main diet so it might be probably bad for a parrot to eat paper.
