I know that in the US you don't need a prescription for antibiotics and that is crazy on my opinion since many use it when not needed and don't follow the instructions so they can become immune. You should never use it unless a doctor say so. Only he can tell if the infection is so serious you need it. Pregnant women can take antibiotics but it should be avoided. Clearly some conditions are worse if you don't take it than if you do.
