  • It depends on the individual patient. Most people with incurable diseases with a poor prognosis would rather have the truth if they are coherent. It depends what questions they are asking you. If they say something such as: 'I should be out of here soon so would you go out with me and celebrate?' It would be wise to agree and let them know you are looking forward to it. Humans fight to survive and while doing so prefer to keep their dignity. Miracles never cease to amaze doctors.
