Betta fish can be comfortable in tanks large or small. Large tanks can provide space for your betta, while small tanks keep your betta from being stressed. Whichever kind of tank works for you best is just fine!

∙ 14y agoYes they do. No fish like to be crowded, nor do they like to be kept in cramped conditions. Bettas do not move around much but like all fish other species they like to be kept at the temperature they have evolved to live in (ie. 78F to 80F) and they all need good clean water so they must have a filter running 24/7 to be healthy. The basic rule is 1 inch of fish needs at least 1 gallon of water. A Betta is a 3 inch fish so it should be in a minimum of 3 gallons of water ( ie. A 4 gallon tank). The recommended size of tank for a Betta is 10 gallons.
