Roman Catholic AnswerIt is recommended that one of your Godparents from your Baptism be your sponsor, but that sponsor must be a practicing Catholic as their primary function is to instruct you and lead you in the faith.
It is not okay, for you are preventing the ability to be fertile. It is more or less the same as using a contraceptive, which is against the teachings of the Catholic church. If there is some medical reason for this, I am not sure, but if there is you may have to speak to a priest about that.
.Answer from a CatholicAttached below is an article from New Covenant, a monthly magazine which caters to those active in the Catholic and protestant pentecostal or charismatic movements. All I have to say is that although I pretty much agree with what the article is saying, my confessor has told me that there is an orthodox Charismatic movement inside the Church, and they are completely obedient to the magisterium. I trust my spiritual director who is an excellent priest. He is not telling me that I have to believe in this movement or join it, but that I cannot condemn it as, as of Summer 2012, the Church has not officially condemned it. That being said, it is important that if one is drawn to a charismatic group, to make absolutely sure that they are in complete communion with the Church and completely subject to the Church. Further, that they are not going off and doing things on their own, especially with protestants. St Paul warned vehemently about grouping with unbelievers, and remember, several Popes have infallibly taught that there is no salvation outside of the Church. As long as you are a faithful child of the Church, going to confession and Holy Communion regularly, you should be okay.
No, you can be baptized in another church, but will have to attend classes to be received into the Catholic Church -----------------------------------All people validly baptised by water and by word are made Catholics. They are expected however to receive tuition in the faith of the apostles and to have this confirmed by a valid bishop.
Over 300 years ago.Roman Catholic AnswerThe Church, itself, has nothing to repent of. The doctrine of indulgences is, and always was, sound. The practice of some individuals in the past, as always, has been fraught with errors. This individuals were corrected, and measures were taken to avoid abuses in the future. The doctrine of indulgences is perfectly okay.
Yeah just make sure that your going out with a good person.
This is a perfectly healthy social relationship. As long as pre-marital sex is not involved and the couple is not same-sex i know for a fact the Catholic Church approves of this.
.Catholic AnswerIt is impossible to be Catholic and not practice Christianity as the only complete Christianity there is in the world is the Catholic religion. Everyone else who is claiming the name "Christianity" has rejected some part of the revelation that Our Blessed Lord gave to the Catholic Church, and it has preserved it for all these centuries against every heresy from the first century right through modern protestantism. Of course it is okay to practice Christianity and be a Catholic, you could not possibly do anything else.
No, the correct way to say this sentence is "Are you okay?" using the verb "are" instead of "is."
