I assume your concern means that you are planning to have sex with this sixteen year old. While the age of consent is sixteen in Mississippi, there's kind of a grey area because they're sixteen and you are more than eighteen so you could be potentially be charged with statutory rape. If her parents are okay with your relationship or you are not planning to have sexual contact with this sixteen year old, you're probably fine.
Keep in mind though, that a sex charge is the only criminal allegation under US or state codes that require you to prove your innocence (that's right, guilty until proven innocent). As such, engaging in any sort of non-chaperoned relationship (group dates, social gatherings, etc.) with the minor girl is a recipe for personal chaos--prosecution and conviction for any of a variety of sexually based offenses.
