Why not?? ... sounds like great fun to me!
If only Valentine's Day cards were 'a thing' in my day in Grade 5, I know the perfect person mine would have gone to at that stage ... and she would like to have reciprocated as well.
So why make it anonymous?
Why not give it to her privately, but directly?
Candy, a card, chocolate, wait, HOW old are you?!?!
anonymous name card+anonymous name card+anonymous name card= folder
she is in fifth grade. she is 10-11 years old

write ur note, say love ur secret admirer (or love, anonymous) then give it to a friend u trust. (make sure its not a close friend b/c then its obvious who wud give them the note.) tell them to give it to the person its for. and if the person who gets it is like, OMG I GOT A VALENTINES DAY CARD!. act like its surprising... and not from u
You can put love hearts, flowers, cupcakes, and a portrait of your self on the Valentines card. In my opinion, you should never send a Valentine Card to your mother unless you have an Oedipus complex.
Anything you want! It is anonymous, after all!
Get him a funny card.
