Well if you mean literally dirty hair, then you should wash it and then get highlights for best results. But if you mean hair that has mixed colors and bleached spots, you should wait till the dye is out or bleach it out for best results:)

So wait 2 days to get your highlights or you will regret it. If you go into your hair care professional they can answer your questions more specifically.
