Yes, if a person being the age whereas dating is okay, i don't see why loving your significant other is a big deal.

Love can take many forms; it's a pity, and unnecessarily restrictive, to assume love and dating are automatically the same thing and somehow exclusive of other forms of loving relationships.

Dating can be simply a matter of friendship, of people spending time together because of similar interests and outlook, and this is how very many loving relationships begin.

These relationships might develop into close phyisical partnerships, or into loving friendships. Both involve love, and neither form of love is of more value than the other.

One might also love one's parents and other family members, family friends, others one comes to know closely and well, as well as pets, home, community and country. Many people love their homeplace to the extent they suffer when forced to live elsewhere for any length of time.

We all have endless capacity for love. The more we love, the greater becomes our ability to love.

When it comes to dating, frequently the perceived need to seek love, and the illusions involved in the perception of love - illusions fuelled by popular culture and the opinions of others - is the reason relationships can be short-lived and unsatisfactory, not beginning in friendship and not ending on good terms. This is true of all ages; people who've been married more than once, people of mature years, and people in their teens are all equally susceptible to notions of love which aren't true and simply don't work.

Good friends are far more difficult to find than lovers. If your relationships begin on a basis of friendship, you already have a great head-start on those chasing dreams based on unreal expectations.

Movie romances are great fun, like romantic novels, but they aren't real life. Real life is far richer, more varied, and much more fun, provided you let it be!
