Is it okay to paint the interior of a gas oven - the bottom of the oven was scratched and now it is getting rusty when i try to clean it?

High temperature automotive paint might last. There is powder coating that is baked on in an oven, but it would probably ruin the oven for regular baking due to the fumes given off in the process, Blacking for cast iron wood stoves would probably be the least offensive option. Clean the rust, wipe the Blacking on and heat the stove empty to set the finish.
