The remaining bump could be several things. It ought to be looked at by a competent dentist, preferably an oral surgeon. The most likely cause is residual scar tissue. This is especially true if the bite was not treated with sutures and allowed to heal on its own. It may also be some sort of cyst. Most cysts are benign and harmless (lipoma, fibroma, etc) while others can be potentially cancer. Only a biopsy (looking at a tissue sample under a microscope) can rule out cancer.
It is a small white bump on your tongue. it might start out as a red bump.
"hm. maybe because your really clumsy?" this was the last answer, but it is not scientific in the slightest, and, to some, insulting. It is, in my opinion, because when you chew, your tongue moves around a lot, and with the movement of your teeth, this can cause you to accidentally bite your own tongue...
It is very possible you received a tick bite. Tick bites stand out from other insect bites because it looks like a bull's eye meaning you will have a red bump with a rash forming around the bite itself, if you think you may have been bitten by a tick I recommend seeing a Doctor very soon.
Actually the tongue is packed chock full of all kinds of bumpy nodules to register taste, hot and cold, sweet or sour, salty or bland and it's more likely to be one of these. It could be the start of a small ulcer or some other minor infection, so you should probably have a doctor look. The white bump comes and goes every month or so. last about a week
It sounds like it's a canker sore. They are sometimes pretty painful, but aren't anything to worry about. They usually last about a week or less. If it doesn't go away or concerns you, go see a doctor or dentist.

You can go to the dentist, get your mouth numbed, and your teeth sharpened. In case you haven't notice - human teeth aren't really all that big and don't make good artistic material. It would be better if you were to get artificial enhancements rather than do something irreversible. ya if you do get them sharpened be careful not to bite your tongue cuz i got mine sharpened last month and bite three holes through my tongue
Bumble bees sting, they do not bite. the last time i was saw a bumble bee it bit me so they do bite

It depends on the size of the bump. There's no general time for a bump to go away, since that depends on a lot of factors that differ from person to person. On the other hand, if it's been there for months, I'd see a doctor as soon as possible.
Ignore that last ignorant answer. Yes, cockatoos do bite, as do all birds.
"I ate beef tongue for dinner last night. It was surprisingly tasty!"
