Is it possible that a malfunction in the governor could be connected with dilation of the governor housing?

Hey Paulo==No. If the governor sticks in the housing, the gear will strip. More than likely, if it is the goevernot, the valve inside the governor is sticking. Take it out and sand it with 600 sandpaper on some glass or other flat surface. GoodluckJoe
