Governor Henry hamilton was deeply connected to the cherokee people and while it is more than possible cherokee settled in the Bahamas' when he was governor there , I do not know if any settled in Dominican Republic when he was a governor there though .
but I suspect it is possible as cherokee obviously followed him to the bahamas..
so if anyone's family lore is claiming cherokee Ancestry in The Domincan Republic it is probably through a connection to Hamilton or his unrecorded family who ever they all were in the Bahamas and in the USA with possible connections at both Pensacola Florida and Quebec and Detroit and in the cherokee and or creek people.
I hope that helps someone explain those possible connections.
