Yes because if you are against slavery means you don't aprove of unpaid labor because of race, doesn't mean you can't hate them for color. You can hate a race, but don't like the fact of using them for unpaid labor.
Abolitionists wanted to end slavery. A racist would not want a minority to have the same rights as he, not hire him, etc. Also, he could hate Hispanics and Asians but like Blacks.
The north was against slavery, and the south favored it.
Yes. Those were Kansas and Nebraska. After a little local difficulty, Kansas voted against slavery. They didn't bother trying the same thing with Nebraska, which was declared a state in 1867, after slavery had been made illegal.
yes theres always been slavery it might not have been the same as before but slavery is slavery in fact theres still slavery today in some parts of the world
The previous answer claiming that white people are racist may have been answered by a person prejudiced against white people, black people or both. Racism and bigotry stink. Most of the people I know are not racist, black, white or other. Despite the color of our skin, despite our country of origin, despite our religious beliefs, despite the differences between us...we are all the same. When we bleed, we bleed red blood, we are all susceptible to the same diseases. We are all simply people. People are people.
Racists aren't one race, so to have a disdain for them isn't really racist at all; however, if you have a disliking for the racist's race regardless if a person of the same race is even racist, then yes, you are yourself a racist.
A racist has the same rights as any other human being as being a racist is not against the law; it is, however, extremely frowned upon by many and can lead to behavior that infringes on the rights of others.
Marriage has nothing in common with slavery, unless one partner is marriaged against his/her will, with no way out.

No. He was a founder member of Rock Against Racism. Unfortunately, not the same could be said about his manager whose racist rhetoric was well known and somewhat colouered the public perception of those around him.
Well, back then, it was a little racist, somewhat excluding African Americans from voting and doing some other things. Now, it is only against those who love the same sex. Which is quite unfortunate still. :(
You are considered a racist if you hold the opinion that a person or a people is inferior or has negative character traits simply because of his race. So, saying a thing like "all Arabs are fanatics" would certainly be a racist remark, apart from being incorrect. But being against IS is being against fundamentalism, sectarism, surpression and terror. There it happens to be perpetrated by Arabs but in the recent past the fight has been against the 'Caucasian' Northern Irish IRA and the Serbians in the Yugoslav wars for largely the same reasons.
The north was against slavery, and the south favored it.
Race and slavery have become almost synonymous because slaves were all the same race. If the majority of slaves were white, this could have extended to the Caucasian race.
The origins of Santa Claus are rooted in various traditions and folklore, and do not explicitly relate to slavery. However, some aspects of modern depictions of Santa, such as his workshop with elves, have been criticized for perpetuating stereotypes or oversimplifying complex historical issues.

yes it is bad to be racist, you might end up being racist and have trouble getting a job because of it. You shouldn't judge a person by their race or how they look. We are all the same.
