Yes. They are 2 different things. One means you do not perceive yourself as society sees you - you do not see yourself as part of the binary system that is considered "right".

The other is a person (man or woman) who dresses in the clothes of the opposite sex to appear to be that sex. Sometimes they are transgendered and sometimes not. These people are often called crossdressers or 'officially' transvestites.

Transgender = a gender identity outside of the gender binary. Crossdressing, transvestism, agender, genderf*ck, androgynous - any form of gender variance.

Do keep in mind that neither of these are the same as transsexual persons. A transsexual person is already fully what they are transitioning into. Think of a TS woman as a woman with a birth defect who is getting surgery to be more like any other woman, not as a man trying to become a woman. So they are gender conformists and thus should never be lumped under the transgender umbrella. Also, once a TS gets surgery, they no longer have transsexualism and are thus legally and socially considered cisgender, not transsexual nor transgender. That bothers TG persons to no end, since transgender people want a community, and transsexual persons only want to be a part of the community that their condition robbed them of, not form some 3rd-sex ghetto.

AnswerI am transgender and sometimes I'm dressed as a female, sometimes as a male. I feel I'm a woman either way.

No. Drag Queens are gay males who are using satire and clothes and makeup to make satirical commentary on society and it's views and actions related to gender, orientation and sex. A drag queen (99.99% of the time) does not want to be a physiological female; it would ruin the shock they already have projected onto their audience. A few are drag queens because of the attention they get, especially from male gays that are the closet; they appear to be safe to the closeted males - a closeted male can say "I'm not having sex with a man, it's a woman!" When it's just a matter of a lack of self-confidence in their identity as gay.

No. A person who sometimes wears clothes traditionally worn by and associated with the opposite sex; typically a male who cross-dresses occasionally by habit or compulsion is a transvestite.

Transvestite should not be confused with transgender or transsexual. Transvestites are often happy

with their gender and have no desire to change their sex, but simply enjoy being able to cross-dress from time to time. When speaking of to or about an individual who identifies as transgender, the term transvestite is typically seen as derogatory.

The term should also not be confused with drag queen ("male who wears women's clothing for public performance"); that term is specifically for performers.

Of course! Clothes are gender neutral. Its about how you feel, how you present yourself. Who you really are.

Is it possible to be simi-transgender?

No. Depending on the definition there can be varying degrees of transgender OR it could be (binary - male or female TG.) I tend to think of TG as the spectrum of gender variant people including crossdressers, drag queens, TS's, inter-sexed persons and those who just don't fit the binary gender system.
