No, it typically isn't. Surface piercings are more like nape, hips, wrists, sternums, and anti-eyebrow piercings. Surface piercings enter and exit through a flat area of skin. Nipples definitely aren't flat so they arent generally considered to be surface piercings.

I do not believe it does. The nape of your neck and nipple piercings are supposed to be the most painful ever. I have my industrial done and it stung for like 5 seconds and now I forget it is there. PLEASE get it done. You will regret it if you do not try.
