Is it possible to have 8 spark plugs on a 4 cylinder engine I have never heard of this but I found an '86 Nissan 720 PU for sale but it says 4 cylinder 8 spark plugs.?

Yes this is possible. There is a second set of spark plugs that fire shortly after the
primary spark plugs fire to burn any remaining fuel out of the cylinder. This is done to
lower emissions. This is a very common setup on the 2.3L Ford Ranger engine as well.
